Diamond fareboxes are designed to be easily installed in a matter of minutes in any type of vehicle and in the optimum position for fare inspection and operation. Simply drill three holes in the existing stanchion and bolt the farebox on, no extra supports are necessary and the mounting design virtually eliminates rattles and vibration.
The farebox should be mounted on an existing stanchion, at such a level to allow proper operation and visual inspection by the driver and ease of use by the passenger.
To mount, drill three holes in mounting stanchion to align with hole pattern in mounting bracket. The top two holes should be 7/16” in diameter and the bottom hole should be ½”. The top two holes are 2” apart on center and the bottom hole is 4” on center from the lowest of the top two holes.
The farebox comes supplied with two 5/16 – 18 X 2” bolts to secure the farebox in the top two mounting holes, install these bolts first and leave slightly loose. The bottom hole is for the post lock. Thread the post lock into place until snug, then tighten the top mounting bolts. The post lock is not intended to hold the weight of the farebox, only to secure it to the stanchion.
Your Diamond farebox now has triple lock protection;
- Cabinet is locked to the vehicle.
- Vault is locked in the cabinet.
- Money is locked in the vault.
