F1 Fare Box Installation

     F-1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Choose the location for the Fare Box.

    WIRING THE FARE BOX

Install the wiring with the Amphenol Connector at the Fare Box location.
The Amphenol connector connects at the back and bottom of the Fare Box
The Push Button switch provided will need to be mounted for easy use by the driver.
The wiring comes standard at 30 feet in length and is coded on the Amphenol end for reference.
The Fare box needs a 12 volt DC power source.

    The wiring is as follows:

    YELLOW TO GROUND
    RED TO 12 VOLT DC
    ORANGE TO SWITCH
    PINK TO SWITCH

Run the pink and orange wires to the switch location and connect to the switch.

Run the Yellow to a clean solid ground.

Run the Red to a reliable 12VDC power source.

If the Fare Box is going to be used without the remote push button and used as a manual only unit

you will not need to run the orange and pink wires.

We suggest that you leave these wires so in the event you do decide to use the remote

dump option it can be done easily.

The circuit board, mounted inside the Fare Box, is protected with a 10 amp automotive fuse.
To access the fuse; Shut off all power to the Fare Box first. Remove the vault.
Then remove the sheet metal panel located inside the lower section of the Fare Box.

The LED Lights remain on when there is power to the Fare Box.

Once the wiring is complete turn on power to the Fare Box and verify the LED Lights are on and

push the button several times to verify the solenoid is opening the inspection plate.

    INSTALLING THE FARE BOX

Install the F-1 on a level and solid place using 4-3/8-16 Flat Head Socket Cap Screws.

The thickness of the mounting location will determine the length of screw required.  A backup
plate or large diameter washers may be required for applications such as a floor so that the
fasteners do not pull through the substrate materials.

The mounting holes are located inside the bottom of the fare box.  A black HDPE interior mounting
plate has been provided so that the flat head screws will fit flush.

Do not install the Fare Box without the HDPE mounting plate.  The 4-flat head screws must be flush
or below the surface of the HDPE mounting plate.  Fasteners that are not flush will interfere with the
    Vault installation and operation.

Do not over tighten the 4-Mounting bolts or the Fare Box may be twisted and make the Vault fit
    incorrectly.

Now the Fare Box has been installed open the lock on the outside of the Fare Box (under the

inspection plate handle) and leave it in the open position.

Load a Vault into the front of the Fare Box and make sure it slides easily in and out.

    Installation is now complete.
